Can you tell me who the adviser was on a dissertation?

Question updated on Sep 10, 2013

We may be able to. The University of Chicago has never required the signatures of dissertation committees in the submitted dissertation. Authors will often will identify their adviser and committee member in their acknowledgements, but this is not always true.

Recently written dissertations identify the primary adviser in ProQuest Dissertations & Theses.
